Access to Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida

Access to the Kelingking Beach is possible, but its not recommended for those who have heart problem or other serious medical conditions. The cliffs are rocky and lack any sort of clear walking paths or handholds, so you should be careful as you make your way to the top.

There are stairs and railings made from sticks and bamboo that lead down the spine of Kelingking to the beach though don’t rely completely on this as they are not maintained that well. The cliffs are rocky and lack any sort of clear walking paths or handholds, so you should be careful as you make your way to the top.

The view from up there is one to remember, and certainly worth exhausting your muscles from the ascend. The walk down to the beach takes around an hour and is only secured with a bamboo rail. They are not greatly maintained so please don’t put 100% of your weight on them and be safe if you venture down!

Once you’ve reached the sand, you’ll have it all to yourself most of the time. Depending on tide conditions, the waters are swimmable. However, note that the undercurrents can be strong, and being the remote site that it is, there are no lifeguards around. Besides your camera and a good pair of shoes, be sure to bring drinking water with you on the descent, to keep you hydrated.

Kelingking Beach Hike

The hike down to the beach shouldn’t be underestimated and visiting the beach isn’t doable for everyone. The first 10 minutes down is a super steep sand path with a bunch of ropes and sticks sketchily fastened to the limestone boulders on the edge of the Kelingking sea cliff. The full hike down to Kelingking Beach takes 40 to 60 minutes. And hike up from the beach its takes around 120 mintes to 180 minutes.

Kelingking Beach Sunset

Here is a great little tip for enjoying Kelingking Secret Point Beach from a unique angle. Instead of hiking down the stairs, head to the right along the cliffs. There is a worn path along the cliff edge but no railing so be careful. And here you will find multiple epic viewpoints, with arguably a better look at the beach than the hike.

It’s an awesome spot for sunset and doesn’t involve any hiking for those of you out there looking for the easy option.Definitely one of the best sunset spots on the island of Nusa Penida and a unique angle of Kelingking Secret Point Beach.
